Our Sisterhood is part of a larger organization called the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ). We pay dues to WRJ for each Sisterhood member. You may not be aware of the incredible impact WRJ has had throughout its 111 year-old history and continues to have today.
Not only has WRJ always supported and promoted Jewish women, but they also have been (and continue to be) a major supporter of both the education of our clergy and the development of our youth. WRJ is very active politically, promoting Social Justice initiatives that make a difference. And they have taken on numerous special projects, such as the completion of The Torah: A Women’s Commentary, which features women’s interpretations of the holy text. Come to our September meeting and learn about how much you make a difference on a National scale by being a member of our Sisterhood. WRJ Pacific District Board Member Margie Meadow will present insights on WRJ's rich history and its current projects and activities. On a local front, your Board has been hard at work revising and updating our bylaws to be consistent with current practices. We will be presenting and voting on the proposed Bylaws amendments at our September meeting as well. We hope to see you at our September meeting!
