The theme for the Gala is l'dor v'dor from generation to generation. This year we will honor two TAS families: the Scullers and the Goldman/Rezniks.
It will be a lovely and fun filled night with the silent auction (there were some terrific items last year), casino games, delicious cuisine, wine pull, and silent disco. I can't wait! It's that time of year! Time for the LOVE Luncheon!
We will be honoring our volunteers, installing next year's Board, AND we will be entertained by Amelia Earhart (actually Roberta Bassin). There will also be a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle! Sisterhood members and paid up friends are free. Guests are $18. Lunch is from California Chicken Cafe, make your choice when you RSVP. Because we are ordering lunch, we can't accommodate walk-ins. This Thursday the 18th at 7pm we will be meeting to discuss our favorite books. Write a short summary of your favorite book and bring a copy for someone else if you have one! We will create our own library. I have three copies of my favorite! Every time I finish a really good book, I want to share it with others. And I always appreciate when others turn me on to a new author. Some of our friends even loan out their books if you ask nicely. We will also be voting on our new Board. We do need a quorum, so please come even if you don't share any books. Stay after a few minutes to decorate a quilt square (to make into a quilt for Elizabeth). Did you know that the price of Tributes went up? We had not increased the cost for many years (many years), so they are now $5. A bargain for a personal secretary (Mel Birken) to send a note to a sister or temple member! We hope you will join us! We wanted to let you know about a great opportunity coming up on May 14th, Mother's Day! The L.A. Jewish Health (formerly The Jewish Home) is having a Mother's Day Celebration and needs volunteers.
